  1. Separate Colocasia leaves from the bunch and wash them nicely, drain excess water and chop leaves finely.

  2. To chopped Colocasia leaves add finely chopped onion and green chillies. Add Besan, Red Chilli Powder, Turmeric Powder, Hing and Salt and mix all ingredients with chopped colocasia leaves nicely.

  3. For making Patode take good amount of mixed ingredients and shape them in the shape of rolls.

  4. Grease steamer with oil and put on water for boiling. When steam starts to come out put rolls in a steamer and close the lid. Let it cook on low to medium flame.

  5. Cook Patode roughly for 30-40 mins. Check in between once to see if they are cooking nicely or not.

  6. Take them out when it’s done. And keep them aside to cool down, and cut them into similar small pieces.

For Frying Patode
  1. In a kadhai add 2 tbsp oil and heat the oil until it just start smoking.
  2. Add Ajwain, Dry Red Chillies and Hing then saute them for some time.
  3. Then add cooked and cutted pieces of Patode and let them saute for some time.

  4. Serve them Parathas or Rotis.
